Internal Quality Assurance and the European Standards and Guidelines
The Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education call for agencies to have internal quality assurance (IQA) procedures in place. These procedures help to demonstrate to stakeholders that agencies are serious in wishing to improve their own performance. Having procedures on paper is one thing. Successful implementation of procedural improvements in agencies, regardless of their size, is the real challenge.
ENQA's IQA group, composed of agencies’ IQA staff members, has continued and expanded the work that it started in Copenhagen in 2007. This report demonstrates that the cooperation is deepening and entering very practical territory.
The report contains a chapter on The EVA barometer – a performance indicator.
ENQA has published this workshop report in 2008.
